Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her real surname Ari Lennox is an American music producer and performer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. On the 21st of October, 2016 she debuted Pho which was her first EP released on the Dreamville Records label. This was when she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's references. After that, in the course of the period, she released music that was circulating all over Dreamville. On December 8th that she had signed with Dreamville Records. She was featured on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In the month of October, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening artist to J. Cole on his track Change in the year 2017 and performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The singer also performed in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas as her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video then released in September. The second single she released was for Grampa on November 9. In November, 13, she released two additional singles entitled The No One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single the 26th of February, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby made an appearance along with Cole in The Creed II sound track on November 16. A music video was released on 20 February 2019 to go along with the track. Within a matter of a week the video had more than 3,000,000 views. She was the opening act for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
